Learning Skills Reading Kits and Audio Cards

Learning Skills has specialized in remedial reading materials for over 25 years.  Our current products include Reading Skills Kits for Elementary School and Review Kits for Middle or High School.  We also sell Language Master audio cards to complement our reading kits. Reading Skills kits are built around page size work cards covering hundreds of reading skills. On the front of each card, a skill is introduced and a sample exercise is worked. On the back, 6 to 10 exercise questions are presented which students may work and then correct using the included answer cards. Students may study on their own, with a peer or an adult mentor. Cards are numbered, color coded and step indexed to keep things organized. Online prices are 1/2 of retail for a limited time.

Reading Skills Review Kits and Audio Cards

Reading Skills Review kits are written at a high interest, low vocabulary level for older students. They are appropriate for middle school, junior high, senior high and adult classes.  Each reading skill is covered by 3 cards at progressive vocabulary levels.  Review A kits use a vocabulary that is fog indexed at grade levels 2, 3 and 4.  While Review B kits use a vocabulary that is fog indexed at grade levels 5, 6 and 7.  Click on the Sample icons below to see typical cards and the skill topics covered for each kit.

Blank audio cards are available to add sound to your reading program. Audio cards are 3.5 by 9 inch cards with a stripe of recording tape on the bottom. They are designed for special players patterned after the original Bell & Howell Language Master. Many schools have such readers in their audio-visual rooms. As each card is passed through the machine, a short message is played that explains the pictures on the card. We offer blank audio card sets for those that have a "do it yourself" attitude.
